Job 1 (Magic e*): Silent final e jumps over the consonant to make the vowel says its name or second sound e.g time
Job 2 (Naughty v and u): Silent final e stops v or u being at the end of a word e.g have and blue
Job 3: Silent final e makes the c or g say its second sound e.g. once and charge
Job 4: Silent final e makes sure every syllable has a vowel e.g lit/tle
