****NEW****
This portal provides information about what our remote school program will look like during this flexible and remote learning time. The Victorian Government has announced changes to current restrictions across Victoria until 11.59 pm Thursday 2 September.
A section teacher will provide students and families a daily 9:30 am and afternoon check-in with families each morning and afternoon. Webex links for these meetings will be posted on Seesaw.
Those families that require devices for online learning support are encouraged to call the school ASAP.
Sections will send home learning materials, recommended websites, home packs, mylife activities and ideas to support students learning from home. Yarrabah will be providing support over the week via the portal, Webex and wellbeing services. Some of the wellbeing services available include:
Our Mental Health Practitioner (school social worker) Samantha is available for any secondary-aged student families whose children are really struggling during this time both onsite or off. Samantha is available on Monday and Tuesday. Samantha will be contacting student families who remain at home and provide support and guidance as it might relate to the student's needs as required.
Our school nurse Jess will be on call and available to support you with any medical concerns or health advice that your child may have during remote learning times. Jess will be supporting the needs of students onsite.
Our school Chaplain Christine (parent liaison) will be available to provide parents with opportunities for linking to others families both within the school community and out. Christine can support parents to review NDIS supports, carer arrangements and financial supports during this difficult time.
We encourage you to contact us for any matters relating to your child's wellbeing support. Use the following link to make an online referral or simply call the school. https://sites.google.com/education.vic.gov.au/linkit-virtual-school/yarrabah-wellbeing-support
Where relevant, activities will also be posted on Seesaw. Teachers will provide details during Monday's Webex Meeting.
If you are an essential worker and require your child to attend school on-site, please complete the Onsite Attendance Application Form found below.
If you need to speak with someone in person, call the school during school hours of 8.50 am - 3.30 pm on 03 95800384.
Kind Regards,
