Homework
Homework is due every Monday.
Diaries
Diaries are due every Friday. Students must read at least 4 times a week for 30 minutes each time. Book titles and pages/times are to be written down in diaries and signed by parents each day. Activities on the left hand side of the diary also need to be completed each week.
Expectations
It is expected that every student completes these weekly tasks. Failure to do so or to an adequate standard will result in students making up time at recess or lunch to complete these tasks. Repeat offenders will receive a strike.
Term One Week Eight, DUE MONDAY 23rd MARCH

This week we have a comprehension task for you to complete on Resilience. Some of the tasks you will be able to complete on the sheet and the others you will be required to complete in your Homework Books. Remember we are still expecting excellent presentation skills.

Please complete the Matharoo task that you have been set below. If you feel like a challenge you can complete any of the others as well.

Term One Week Six, DUE MONDAY 9th MARCH
Reading
This week we have a comprehension task based on the Australian Government for you to read and answer the questions. We have noticed a slight dip in the presentation of our homework so please remember that our expectations are the following:
you have a heading in your books
all answers must be written on the lined pages in your books
all answers are in full sentences
your handwriting is neat and legible
before submitting your homework please make sure that you have checked all of your spelling for any errors
Maths
Please complete the Mathletics tasks that your teacher has set you.
Inquiry
We have made a crossword for you to complete this week and you can select the appropriate level between one star through to three stars. It is quite tricky so you may need to do some research - but make sure you are getting answers for the Australian Government not the American system.
The Resilience Project
A couple of weeks ago we completed a session on Joy and there was an additional activity that you could do at home. As leaders in the school we would like you to lead this conversation at home and play the 'Glad Game' at home. Please write a short summary so you can share it with your peers when we correct our homework about how you felt when you did this.
Term One Week Five, DUE MONDAY 2nd MARCH
Reading
We have had a number of questions about some books that students in Grade Six like to read. As we are completing surveys can you please follow this link to complete a quick set of questions about what you would like to read.
Maths
There are two tasks that you need to complete this week so please read carefully.
You will be analysing some of the data from the survey that we completed last week in our survey. Choose a level below and complete a series of questions and complete the graph that it asks you to.
Survey your family/team mates/friends about two topics. One must fall under the numerical data - (How tall are you? How many siblings do you have? How many games of netball/football/soccer have you played?), and the other must be categorical data - where the answers fall into a category (such as What month were you born? Which country were you born in? What is your favourite position to play in Netball?) Be creative. You may display your data using excel or drawing your graphs in your book. Please follow this link to see how to make a pie chart https://www.clickview.net/primary/videos/4256415/pie-charts-drawing-and-reading
IMPORTANT NOTE - If you are in Miss J's or Mrs Weaver's group we do expect that you are doing a pie graph for at least one of them. Also that you are adding in percentages for Miss J's group.
The Resilience Project
This week we would like you to talk to your family about the 'Ripples' task you did this week in your Resilience Project. Then create another diagram based off one of your parents/grandparents/aunt or uncle/special person and how they showed kindness and empathy to those around them. Please spend some time on this making it look appealing. There is the template of the Ripples task we completed in class below, that you can use and decorate or you can create your own.
Term One Week Four, DUE MONDAY 23rd FEBRUARY
