Learning Technologies

Castlemaine North includes the use of Digital Technologies in our teaching and learning experiences, as we believe this is a necessary tool to support and enhance learning across all curriculum areas. We ensure students are prepared with the necessary digital skills required both within and outside their educational setting, which complements our strong focus on literacy and numeracy.

Students learn to use technology to create documents and access media, to learn about cyberbullying and how to use the internet safely and also how to be creators of content. We have a strong focus from Prep to Grade 6 on coding and robotics where students learn how to design, create and evaluate innovative solutions to problems.

Grades 5 and 6 have a 1:1 computer leasing agreement and Grade 3 and 4 students have a 1:2 netbook program. Junior grades have access to a classroom bank of iPads to support their learning.

Lessons incorporating Digital Technologies are integrated across all curriculum areas and are designed to enhance the teaching and learning, whilst assisting students to meet specific learning outcomes.
