Applied Computing
Duration One Unit
This subject is designed to support students in a career in computing and software. Students will develop software, websites and utilise other digital skills to manage data flows and design and create digital solutions using coding and algorithmic thinking. Emphasis is placed on design thinking, coding techniques, algorithm design and debugging.
Additionally, there will be an element of game design theory using the Unity 3D software platform and VR headsets. The subject consists of the development of key skills and knowledge of how to create 3D computer games using Unity 3D software and VR headsets. The program’s focus is to develop sound software develop-ment skills in the field of game design.
This course provides a good background for those who are contemplating further studies of computing.
