Financial Mathematics

Brief Description
This course will provide optional, additional content that enables students to undertake study of first order linear recurrence relations and financial mathematics that are not covered in core maths classes. They will undertake study of topics such as linear growth or decay in financial contexts, simple interest investments and loans, flat rate and unit cost depreciation of an asset over time. The contents of this elective complements and extends the Maths curriculum and provides exceptional foundation that is essential for undertaking VCE General Maths .

Problem solving/Modelling Task at the end of the semester
Pathways Financial Mathematics is a pathway for General Maths from U1-4. With advanced concepts taught explicitly, students have the distinct advantage of being equipped with skills earlier on and prepares them for study of General Maths in the future
