Newsletter 8th May 2025
Chewton Primary School is situated on Djaara Country!
We acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung people, the custodians and caretakers of the land. We thank them for the care they have taken and continue to take of Country: the rivers, mountains, trees and animals. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
We follow Bunjil's teachings: Care for self , Care for others, Care for Country
We commit to Be Brave and Make Change.
We will be a voice for generations.
Now, more than ever.

A friendly reminder that arriving at school on time helps all students get the best start to their learning day.
Every morning our classes have a morning circle or check in where staff and students are able to connect in a positive way to start the day together. We check in for readiness for learning, build positive interactions, and let everyone know what is coming up for the day. This is based on Berry St trauma informed practice.
We understand that occasional lateness happens — and we appreciate your efforts each morning. However, when students arrive late, it can delay the start of lessons, reduce valuable learning time (especially in literacy), and disrupt the flow of the classroom.
Being on time not only supports your child’s success but also helps create a positive, focused classroom culture.
Thank you for your continued support in helping students arrive ready to learn, right from the start of the day.
We have had a few accidents in class with honey and milk on books, so we ask parents if your child is keen to get their brekkie in, can you please arrive at Brekkie club a bit earlier? Last serves at 8:50 so we can be fed and ready by 9! Thanks everyone.
