Newsletter 14th March 2024
Chewton Primary School is situated on Djaara Country.
We acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung people, the custodians and caretakers of the land. We thank them for the care they have taken and continue to take of Country: the rivers, mountains, trees and animals. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. We follow Bunjil's teaching: Care for self, care for others, care for Country.
We commit to Be Brave and Make Change.
We will be a voice for generations.
Now, more than ever
Biderap Season: Hot dry weather, very little rainfall, Ballambar (female Common Brown Butterflies) are flying. Walurk (tussock grass) is long and dry. Tchingal (The Southern Cross) is high in the south at sunrise.

We have a number of students with moderate to severe allergies at Chewton Primary School. Each year we update our Allergies and Anaphalyxis policies and we make sure that all staff are trained in First Aid procedures for responding to allergic and anaphylactic reactions.
We put risk minimisation strategies in place such as
teaching good hygiene and hand washing techniques,
not sharing our food with our friends
leaving nuts and nut spreads for an after school snack
appropriate food handling to avoid cross contamination when cooking
working with parents to make sure all allergy plans are up to date each year
Our policies can be found on our website.
Please help us by keeping nuts for an after school snack.
Our new School Council members are:
Damian Stock, Rory McDougall, Kellie Tori & Justin Balmain
Our continuing members are Marian Reid and Megan Butler, with Scott Purdon as staff rep.
