.The annual CSEF amount per student is:
$150 for primary school students
$250 for secondary school students
New applicants should contact the school office to obtain a CSEF application form or download from the website below.

8ways is something that grew out of a particular ethic, a way of working that goes beyond cultural awareness, cultural sensitivity and even cultural responsiveness. It is all about relational responsiveness, a protocol of attending to relational obligations to the field you're working in, relating and responding holistically to people, land, culture, language, spirit and the relationships between these with integrity and intellectual rigour. 8ways is a point of entry into this way of knowing. It is a way to develop relationally responsive practice in the way you work with your Aboriginal community.
This is a pedagogy framework that allows teachers to include Aboriginal perspectives by using Aboriginal learning techniques. In this way, focus can remain on core curriculum content while embedding Aboriginal perspectives in every lesson. https://www.8ways.online/
Last year we did 8 Ways training with Kath Coff and incorporated it into our teaching. This term the whole school is developing Intercutlural Capabilities as our Inquiry learning and we have a focus on using 8 Ways in our teaching.

Are you interested in joining School Council? We are looking for 3 new members this year. We meet on the last Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. The School council plays an extremely important role in the life of the school. Policies, values and the strategic direction of the school are all areas which School Council has a direct role in. A diverse and enthusiastic school council can really have a positive impact in the life of our school. Please consider whether you are able to be a School Councillor. It generally involves a 3-4 hours each month of your time. Have a chat to Maz or Bernadette if you have any queries. A big thanks to our outgoing members Ingrid, Jasja, Sashi and Nicole for their contributions to School Council.
The key functions of school council with regard to the school are:
to establish the broad direction and vision of the school within the school's community
to arrange for the supply of goods, services, facilities, materials, equipment, other things or matters required for the conduct of the school, including the provision of preschool programs
to raise funds for school related purposes
to regulate and facilitate the after-hours use of the school premises and grounds
to exercise a general oversight of the school buildings and grounds and ensure they are kept in good order and condition
to provide for the cleaning and sanitary services that are necessary for the school
to ensure that all money coming into the hands of the council is expended for proper purposes relating to the school
to provide meals and refreshments for the staff and students of the school and make charges for those meals or refreshments
to inform itself and take into account any views of the school community for the purpose of making decisions in regard to the school and the students at the school
to generally stimulate interest in the school in the wider community
to prepare the School Strategic Plan and review the Annual Implementation Plan — to be signed by the president and the principal
to report annually (the Annual Report) to the school community and to the department on the school’s financial activities, the School Strategic Plan, and any other matters that are determined by the Minister
to manage the hire, licence and shared use of school facilities
to determine the dates for the school’s student-free days:
in accordance with the number of student-free days each calendar year specified by the Secretary of the department

This year we are organising a parent group which will organise social gatherings, market stalls, fundraising and make us more visible in the community.

The Department of Education (the department) values your privacy and is committed to protecting information that schools collect.
All staff including contractors, service providers and volunteers of the department, and all Victorian government schools (schools), must comply with Victorian privacy law and this policy.
In Victorian government schools, the management of personal information and health information is governed by Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic) and Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) (collectively, Victorian privacy law). In addition, the Department and Victorian government schools must comply with the Victorian Data Sharing Act 2017.
This policy explains how Victorian government schools collect and manage personal and health information, consistent with Victorian privacy law and other associated legislation.
In addition to its obligations described in this policy, the department has limited and specific obligations under national applied law schemes which are set out in the department’s Privacy policy (National Law). These additional obligations relate to our role as early childhood services regulator in Victoria, and also in relation to health practitioners who are governed by the Health Practitioner Regulation National Law (Victoria). However, health information collected and managed in Victorian government schools is primarily handled in accordance with the Health Records Act 2001 (Vic) and obligations are, in practice, consistent. Where clarification is required, contact the Privacy team.
This year children will be borrowing from our school library on Thursdays, beginning next week. If you have a library bag or soft cloth bag at home you can bring it next week. on Thursday.
This week the Prep – 1 students enjoyed their first Sustainability lesson with Serena. We planted seeds in containers and discovered water bugs in samples from Forest Creek.
In the classroom we worked with a partner and created a poster about our school value ‘Respect’.
Great team work Preps-1!
We have been completing our start up program in the 2-3-4 class where we have been having lots of fun! We have been learning about our school values, been playing lots of games and doing getting to know you activities. Our class read the book ‘Have you filled a bucket today?’ and learnt about ways of being kind to people in our class and school community.
Grade 5/6 have had a great start to the year! What a fantastic class of young people, willing to be brave and learn and adapt to new routines and expectations. We have been unpacking our school values and learning about what Kindness, Respect and Community look like in all areas of our school learning environment.
We have started our SMART spelling program and already students are putting in big efforts.
We are looking forward to diving deeper into our class novel study, Blueback by Tim Winton, learning about Culture and diversity in our Inquiry unit and Maths we have been exploring whole numbers.
We've had such a great start. So good to see everyone again. I'm really excited about the year ahead!
