Newsletter 9th November 2023
Newsletter 9th November 2023
Chewton Primary School is situated on Djaara Country.
We acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung people, the custodians and caretakers of the land. We thank them for the care they have taken and continue to take of Country: the rivers, mountains, trees and animals. We pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging.
We follow Bunjil's teaching: Care for self, care for others, care for Country.
We commit to Be Brave and Make Change.
We will be a voice for generations.
This term is a busy one, so please keep an eye on the calendar in the newsletter so you know what is coming up.

Sushi Lunch Days
Our last two sushi lunch days are the 17th of November and the 15th of December. Don't forget to mark these dates on your calendar. They have also been added into the Compass calendar.
Dont forget to order by 5pm on the Thursday before. https://schoollunchonline.com.au/
Mobile Phone Reminder
If your child needs to bring a mobile phone to communicate with you before or after school, they must be handed in to Kitty or Bernadette for safe storage during the day. Mobile phones are not to be kept in student bags or lockers. Thanks!
You can support Chewton Primary School by nominating us as the recipient of your donated containers, so that we get 10c for every container!
You need to sort your containers as much as possible: plastic bottles, aluminium, glass, liquid paper (Primas etc). Do not crush the cans. Containers should be empty but lids on are fine.
The containers are located behind the Servo, so look out for signs.
Make sure you let them know your containers are for Chewton Primary School!
On Tuesday 31 October we had two important guests join our program for lunch and a Halloween themed afternoon tea. The guests were Steven Schneider – Hands on Learning Measurement and Impact Lead and Natalie Korinfsky the School Focused Youth Services Coordinator from Sunbury/Cobaw Community Health.
This week we have had some other important guests from CSC supporting our program.
A group of year 12 students from the school have been busily upgrading our shed. Two sky lights have improved our learning space by bringing in some much-needed light and some additional wooden boards will ensure any unwanted guests such as snakes – KEEP OUT.
This terms project is focused on restoring old wooden chairs and preparing the garden for summer.

Please make sure your child is in school uniform Monday- Thursday
