Do you know a family who has made a tree change? Remind them they can do their bit for sustainability by sending their kids to their local school, reducing their carbon footprint and building strong community connections for their children! Do you have a new neighbour? Let them know to come and look at our wonderful school.
Just a reminder that our School policy is that all camps and excursions must be paid prior to the event. If finances are difficult, then a payment plan can be arranged by calling Kitty or Bernadette. CSEF can be used by eligible families (Centrelink concession card holders) to assist with the cost of camps and excursions.
Parents and carers can use the bus zone to drop off or pick up children between the hours of 8:30-3:45. Please note you are not able to exit your vehicle in this zone.
Please make sure your child has a water bottle this term. During the building works there is less access to bubblers and it is very important that students have their water bottle at school every day.
Our local CFA have asked grade 5-6 students to design badges for their Expo stand and would love some of our 5-6 students to volunteer on the day to answer questions to promote fire safety in our community. 12:20pm
If you are able to support your child to be part of this, please contact Bernadette or Scott.
Congratulations to Zach who has ridden 500km in 30 days to raise money for the starlight Foundation who help sick kids in hospital have a happier time. It's not too late to donate

This is what we love about the kids at Chewton. Look how many of Zach's friends came to ride with him on the last leg of his journey!
Dear Parents/Carers
Life Education will be visiting our school on Monday the 24th of October. Students will be participating in programs that address many of the components and objective within the Victorian health and physical education curriculum. Below is an outline of the program each stage will be participating in. The cost is $16.00 per child. A permission note will go home to families next week.
Life Education Programs:
Prep-2 Harold's Friendship
3/4 BCYBERWISE
5/6 ON THE CASE
Please see the flyer for more information about the Life Education Modules and to register for a parent session.
A number of parents and students have expressed an interest in optional uniform at Chewton. Please complete our online survey via the email link to let us know what you think. Responses close 21 October
The P-2 class has had a positive start to Term 4. We have been observing and discussing changes that occur in our environment. In Literacy sessions we have been thinking about the Authors purpose for writing and exploring the procedural text type. On Wednesday afternoon the p-4 students spent time together to follow the steps to making a wide mouthed critter.
This week we started learning about Space as part of our new Inquiry topic for this term. We discussed the differences between night and day and collated a series of wonderings we have about Space. Students read a teaching from the Kamilaroi people about the Milky Way or Warambul meaning “stream”. Grade 3/4’s created a poster including Milky Way Galaxy facts.
It's been an 'Out of this World' start to the term as we have launched our Inquiry unit on Space! Students were also really excited to engage in our 'Life Maths' unit. We have been busy applying for our chosen job and conducting interviews. Successful applicants were offered a contract and in order to be paid for their first week needed to work out their weekly wage after tax! We now have students enjoying their Bankaroo accounts with a positive balance...but for how long?
This week students in Prep-4 worked together on Wednesday afternoon for a special learning session. This is a great cross age initiative and also gives students the opportunity to work with a range of abilities, genders and age groups.
One afternoon for the rest of the term, our House Captains will lead cross age club activities.
