The Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships (RRRR) teaching and learning resources have been developed to support schools to develop student knowledge, understanding and skills to build and manage safe and respectful relationships. In the Personal and Social Capability curriculum, students learn to recognise and regulate emotions, develop empathy for others and establish and build a framework for positive relationships. SEL is the process through which children and young people build and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes and skills necessary to:
• Understand and manage emotions
• Set and achieve positive goals
• Feel and express empathy
• Establish and maintain positive relationships
• Make responsible decisions
• Develop resilience to deal with change
• Create positive gender norms
• Contribute to social cohesion.
Children and young people experience a range of personal, social and work-related stressors in their everyday lives. Activities within this topic have an explicit focus on teaching positive approaches to stress management. Assisting students to recognise their personal signs and symptoms of stress, and to develop strategies that will help them to deal with stress effectively, will help students cope with future challenges. The activities focus on the ways in which self-calming strategies can be used to manage stressful situations.
On Monday I was able to join the Prep-2 class as they worked through one of their Respectful Relationships lessons. Students were learning to work collaboratively in a self-control game. Students used the game to help them talk about the place of quiet time in helping them cope with challenge. Students worked with the teacher in the second part of the lesson to develop a definition of stress. Students recognised how stress can be felt in the body. Students identified experiences that can cause feelings of stress.

What you need:
You strictly need 14 players, bibs, a ball, a whistle, sneakers, and two umpires.
Rules:
1. No running with the ball.
2. You can not hold the ball for more than 3 seconds.
3. You need to be 90 cm away from the the person in front of you. If you don't do that they get a free pass and you stand next to them.

C starts in the middle. GK and GS start in the semicircles. WA and WD starts in their quarters on the sides. Same with GA and GD. That's all good luck>:)
Here are a few pics that Miki has sent through!
This week, Prep,1,2's were lucky enough to have a visit from Jess and Hadley of Connecting Country. We explored the bushland behind our school and found several boxes.
Upon inspecting the first box, we were amazed to find two mature sugar gliders and one juvenile. The remaining boxes we inspected had an assortment of honeycomb, chewed on boxes by cockatoo's, recently used nests, eaten honeycomb and two bat boxes which we didn't disturb.
What a lucky school to have such diverse wildlife and habitats surrounding us!!!
