Chewton Primary School is situated on Jaara Jaara Country.
We acknowledge the Dja Dja Wurrung people, the custodians and caretakers of the land. We thank them for the care they have taken and continue to take of Country: the rivers, mountains, trees and animals. We pay our respects to elders past, present and emerging.
We commit to Be Brave, Make Change.

Next term the building works will begin and we will no longer have access to the western carpark.
Mt Alexander Shire Council have agreed to allow parents to use the bus zone for a drop off and pick up from 8:30am-3:45pm.
From the beginning of Term 2 if you wish to drop off or pick up your child you may use the bus zone. You are not allowed to park and exit your vehicle in this zone. There will be a teacher on duty from 8:45 and at 3:30 to assist.
If you wish to park and come into school, please park in the western car park. There will be parking spaces marked out on the ground to make this easier to use.
Please be very careful when entering and exiting this car parking area.
Bike riders: Bike riders will enter from the gate near the compost area. We are still working out where bikes will be kept as we are unsure if we will be able to access the bike lock up area.
Walkers: Please use the front gate.
Please be patient with each other while we all get used to the new system.
Grade 3-4 dioramas
Furniture for sale. Proceeds to go to new library shelving and furniture. There is a range of shelves, cupboards and boards, including vintage blackboards.
On Monday July 11th, we are having learning conferences with parents, students and teachers. This is an opportunity for students to set learning goals for Term 3. Students will not have classes that day but are expected to attend with their parents. This 15 minute conference allows time for discussion on Semester 1 reports, to share successes and create learning goals together. Interview times will be 9am-4pm. If you require a time outside business hours, please contact your child's teacher.
Parents will be able to access the Interview timetable from next Wednesday on Sentral. If you are still having difficulties accessing Sentral, please contact Kitty asap.

Mt Alexander Shire Council have recently developed two local supports for families of children with additional needs. There is no need for children to have or be seeking a diagnosis for families to access these:
New private facebook group called Castlemaine and District PECAN (Parent Engagement for Children with Additional Needs). This is moderated by our local Federally funded Strengthening Parent Support Coordinator, Ellen Kelly https://www.facebook.com/groups/4591471560957871
