Cubbies are a great way to socialise and connect with other classmates. Also, cubbies are a great way to have fun in nature. Kids have fun experimenting with gravity and architecture.
If you own a cubby with a group, then it's fun to learn about currency and money.
In conclusion, I think that cubbies are a great idea!

Cubbies are going well. Many cubbies have been built and there are definitely more to come! Cubbies have been built outside the fence and inside the fence. Everybody is being inclusive and helpful. There haven't been any arguments yet and I think everyone is having fun! By Zach
Cubbies are good for everything
Inclusion
Sharing
New friends
They are also good for engineering. Instead of boring lunch you get to do cubbies in the bush. Cubbies are good to mess around in. You can make hides and see how long it takes for the teachers to find you. My record is a whole lunch!

I'm sure that you'll all agree that there should be one more day added to the weekend. Here are my reasons...
Firstly, you'll have more down time and you'll function better at school because you have better sleep.
Secondly, you'll have more time to spend with your family because you only have the morning and afternoon to spend with them.
Thirdly, you'll have more time to do what you want to do, like go to a friend's house.
So in conclusion, there should absolutely, without doubt, be three days in a weekend!
I believe that camping is so much better than a cramped hotel. When you are camping, you can roast marshmallows, have a campfire and listen to nature. If there's no showers, there's a river and you can bathe in the river.
Hotels are bad because there is no nature and it's crowded, and if you are noisy you can be kicked out. Your kids can't be loud and if they break something, you have to pay for it.
So those are my reasons.
I strongly believe that staying in a hotel is better than camping.
First of all, hotels have luxuries that tenst and caravans don't. For example, hotels have toilets, showers, hot water and power outlets, whereas most tents and caravans don't have the following.
In addition, you only have to pack your clothes and personal belongings. Because hotels supply food, water, toiletries etc, Also, there is room service if you want anything.
Also, camping is more dangerous because there are wild animals that could eat your food, whereas hotels are in the city with no dangers.
In conclusion, I think that hotels are much beeter than campling, because there are luxuries that tens and caravans don't have. That is why I prefer hotels.

I believe that all schools should definitely have a therapy animal for their students. As it can improve both their concentration and behaviour, and make the classrooms more productive in general.
My first point is concentration. For example, let's imagine that there is a big test coming up and somebody is too stressed to concentrate on studying for it. A short time of pating, playing or reading with a dog or cat will improve their mood and relieve their stress, meaning they can concentrate on their test and maybe even do better than they would have if they were calm to begin with.
My next reason is behavior. Late in the day some children will become scrappy and short tempered, a good way to reverse this is to give them a break with a therapy animal.
A short walk with a dog or cat around the schoolyard will work of possible frustrations and calm them down so they can make up with any other students they have argued with.
My last argument is social skills. For instance, a student may not get along with the other students they know, one method is reading to a therapy animal. This has been scientifically proven to help their social skills and motivate them to make friends.
In conclusion, I think that all schools should have a therapy animal. Whether it is to motivate, help with stress, or calm down students. They are a good thing to have at any school.
Having a bad day? You trudge into the classroom awaiting the hard boring day ahead of you, you plop down on your chair and began to daydream you daydream so much that you forget to listen, when the teachers asks you what the answer is to the math problem on the board you begin to sweat and freak out, then you hear the familiar pant and the soft padding of the paws of the schools therapy dog, you feel happy and safe and a bit more excited about the day to come. In my opinion a therapy pet is so great for students because it helps them concentrate, gives the child a mind exercise and a body exercise, and is great for student morale.
Firstly i would like to say that a therapy dog helps with student behavior, if the student is feeling angry, sad or lonely a therapy pet is so great for them to talk to orr to pat and even to play with, if the student is feeling lonely or even scared a therapy pet can help feel safe.
As a result of having a therapy pet the student will get more exercise and therefore more likely to exercise their mind. Science has proven that the more support the student has from a pet the better the school work will be and the more focused they'd be.
Student education is very important in a young person's life so this reason i think is the most important of all, education, the more support that a student gets from a therapy pet works harder and ends up with a better education, therefore leading them to pay attention in class and getting more confident.
In conclusion i agree that all schools should have a therapy pet, because of the education,, the exercise and the students behavior, thank you for reading this.
Congratulations to all our athletes who attended regional Cross Country last week. All students tried their best, were well mannered and supported each other. A great effort! Marta and JoJo will go on to the next level. Well done!
This week all classes worked with Helen and Sally from CHIRP and learnt about how our bodies store worry. We wrote the names of people we trust to speak to when we are worried on a hand stencil and practiced strategies to try when we are worried. The strategies are listed below for you to try at home with your child.
The design has gone to tender and we have fingers crossed that the cost blow outs are not too significant! Before building companies are allowed to tender for government projects, they must meet certain safety and quality assurance criteria. four eligible companies are putting in tenders for our building project. When one is selected by the Victorian Schools Building Authority and the design team, we will hold a site meeting to formulate how the project will proceed and how it will operate while the school continues to function.
Please note that the order of the build has changed since the letter I sent in early April. It is now anticipated that the first stage will involve the renovation of the current 3-4 and P-2 classrooms and the building of the extension for the staff room. The 3-4 students will have their classes in the art room and the P-2s will move into the library. A temporary dust-proof wall will be built in the hallway between the library and the 3-4 room.
The second stage will involve the 5-6 class moving to the art room and the office relocating to the resource room. The builders will use the western carpark and will fence this off as well as an area around the section of the building as they work through it. We anticipate that bike riders will come through the large gate near the compost/ stage area and a temporary bike stand will be erected.
Mt Alexander Shire Council has approved the shared use of the bus zone for drop off and pick up and we are waiting on the sign being installed. This will enable parents who wish to kiss and drop their child to do so at the front of the school, and parents wishing to park and meet their child or speak to other parents and teachers to park at the western end of the school.
We will hold an information session for interested parents following the site meeting and will keep you up to date in the newsletter.
My experience with school building projects is that students love watching the work progress, particularly when there is a power tool involved! Our small space will add complexity to organisation, but we will do everything we can to ensure that there is no interruption to learning.
