This term we have our school review. This is an important opportunity for us to look at what we are doing well and what we need to focus on to improve learning outcomes for our students. The Department appoints a reviewer who works closely with the School Improvement leader, the principal, school council, staff and students, as well as a challenge partner such as a principal of another school and a regional support person. We closely examine the data over the past four years and measure our success across a range of areas: Teacher Judgement of student achievement on the Victorian Curriculum, NAPLAN, student Attitude to School Survey, Parent Opinion Survey and Staff survey. The review team talks to students and staff and works together to formulate new goals for the next four years. This is called the School Strategic Plan. I look forward to sharing updates on this important work.
Please join us at the pool on Friday for our swimming carnival. Our House Captains have organised a range of swimming events for all age groups. It should be a lot of fun! Thanks to Patsy for her outstanding effort in coordinating the swim and survive program for our students this year.
We will have parent teacher interviews in the next few weeks. Stay tuned for more information.
Our new sandpit is a huge success. Everyone is loving the soft white sand. Our new Student Council formulated a set of rules for safe use. Please come and have a look. A huge thanks to Josh, Dan and Rob who gave up two weekends to build the structure, and to Shayne, Kate, Lily and Oliver who helped out with sand.
Fun in the pool for our P-2 students
Congratulations to Jem and Otis, our 2022 School Captains. Our school captains run Monday catch up, Friday assemblies, welcome visitors for special events and act as role models within the school. They also assist the Student council.
Congratulations to our 2022 House Captains. Our House Captains show leadership by assisting other students in the yard, giving values awards to students they see displaying our school values in the playground, organising sporting and cultural events and fun activities for the whole school.

Daydd: for making the outdoor kitchen blackboard window safer and easier to operate!
Rob Noll, Josh Blundell, Dan Nixon, Kate Meade, Lily Fermer, Oliver Hutchison and Shayne Hill for making the sandpit such a wonderful addition to our playground. It has been incredibly well utilised already. The first job of the Student council is to make some safety rules!
