The study of English allows students to take their place as confident communicators; critical and imaginative learners, and informed and active participants in Australian society. It also aims to develop a love of literature, and be both challenging and enjoyable.

So, what does each course involve? 

Most students will study either English Advanced or English Standard for their HSC. Those students who are looking to consolidate their literacy skills should consider English Studies. For those students who excel in this subject, Extension 1 is an option in Years 11 and 12, and Extension 2 in Year 12.
