Open to all NSW high school students
Opens Thursday 8th February and closes 5pm AEST Monday 22nd APRIL
What?
Youth Voices Get Active video competition is open to all high school students in NSW.
Participants are invited to submit a video addressing one of three topic areas:
Top tips for being physically active
How to register for a sport
Being physically active is fun
The videos must be targeted at high school aged children (12 – 18 years old).

Student Prizes
There will be a prize for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, judged by a panel of health and education professionals, industry experts and young people. There will also be a Rural Excellence award and a prize for each of the other 5 categories: Care, courage, critical thinking, concept and creativity.
First prize - $500
Second prize - $300
Third prize - $200
Rural excellence award - $100
A $60 Frank Green bottle will be awarded to each winner in the other 5 categories listed above.
All entrants will receive a certificate acknowledging their participation.
School Prize
Thanks to the generous donations from philanthropists, doctor's associations, HealthWISE and the ACYP we have added two school prizes.
The school with the most student entries will receive $500.
The school in western Sydney with the most entries will receive $400.
Submission Guidelines
The video should not be longer than 45 seconds
The video can be real life or animation (do not feature anyone in your video without their permission)
Only original work to be submitted
No inappropriate language (e.g., swear words), inappropriate images (e.g., revealing private body parts) or risky activity (e.g. extreme sports)
Do not have anyone feature in reveling exercise wear
Do not show anyone doing something that needs expert supervision, e.g. dirt biking
If you include a gym workout, consider the age you are targeting and include necessary safety tips
File size should not be greater than 1GB
Have a file format of Window Media (.wmv), Quicktime (.mov) or MPEG-4 (.MP4)
Ensure the use of correct information, as per the Australian Government guidelines for physical activity. The key messages:
Being physically active is fun and for everyone
Support is available to help you register for a sport
Having useful tips will help increase physical activity
You can enter individually or as a pair or team. If you win the prize as a pair or team, money will be shared
To upload your video, fill out the entry form (on the Google Site) and upload to the form
There will be a statement on the entry form that students will be required to tick to indicate their consent to take part in the competition

Judging Criteria
The video will be evaluated using the following criteria:
Ability to engage the target audience, young people
The accuracy of the message
The impact of the message
Creativity/innovation
Tips for making a video
