Roles of staff in high school
The staff roles in high school are similar to primary school. However, High Schools also have Head Teachers in charge of each Faculty. If your child is having issues in a particular subject, you need to make contact with the Head Teacher of that Faculty.
A Year Adviser oversees the well-being of students in a year and works closely with the Deputy Principal. The Deputy Principal supervises the discipline of students in a year.Â

It gives me great pleasure to address the Illawarra Sports High School community as the newly appointed principal. I am very excited to be returning to the school where I was a PDHPE teacher and the co-ordinator of the successful TSDP Basketball program some twenty years ago.
In the short time that I have been here, I have felt extremely supported by the staff and students who have openly and warmly welcomed me back to the school.
Successful school communities are built on open communication and trust, and I look forward to working with the broader community to develop positive relationships and facilitate opportunities and experiences for our students so that they receive a first-class education in a nurturing and caring environment. In the spirit of working together, P & F meetings will resume next term on Wednesday 17 May at 6:30pm. Please come along for the chance to meet and greet and contribute your parent voice.
