Our day starts at 8:55am under the Bird COLA. We listen for special messages, wave goodbye to our parents and then head upstairs with our teacher. We mark the roll in the classroom to check everyone is here.
Then we start the day with our sound learning.
After that we run reading groups called 'learning centres'. Students do fun activities on sound and writing work, while waiting for their turn to read with teacher.
We pause for a fruit break in the classroom while we listen to a story.
Then we do some work by drawing a picture and writing a sentence about our learning on the story.
Recess is lots of fun from 10:55-11:20am.
We have some snacks and then play in the playground.
After recess we do some maths learning with lots of hands on activities.
Afterwards we might have a language class, a visit to the library or learning in science, geography, history, PDH, sport or creative and performing arts.
Our next break is lunch. We eat in the classroom from 1:00-1:20pm.
Then we go out to play in the playground from 1:20-2:00pm.
After lunch we finish our learning on science, geography, history, PDH, sport or creative and peforming arts for that day. We might also share our 'news' speech with the class if it's our day.
