Clues
Supply students with a set of clues. All organisms are found in Australia.
The clues are often paraphrased from popular web pages to make it easier for students 'find' the organism.
The blank answer sheet is provided on the answers page to record and return the answers back to you.
You can have students email or return the physical answer sheet to you.
You may have students work individually or in groups.
The 24 clues. 4 organisms and matching 6 clues for each organism.
Marking
Students receive four points for each correct organism and then one point for each matching clue. Each clue can only be used once. Mark out of 40.
The answers page has the tried and tested answers from past state wide challenges that fit the clues.
Useful instructions to help to speed up marking.
Please put the clues in numerical order on the answer sheet.
Check the scientific name carefully if you are going to include it. Your team can get full marks with just a correct common name. For example a number of teams put the scientific name for the Fishing Bat as Myotis aelleni which is from Argentina!
