Commerce

The Commerce course aims enable young people to develop the knowledge, understanding and skills to research and develop solutions to consumer, financial, legal, business and employment issues in order to make informed and responsible decisions as individuals and as part of the community.

Students gain greater competence in problem-solving and decision-making by evaluating the range of consumer, financial, business, legal and employment strategies. In examining these they also develop attitudes and values that promote ethical behaviour and social responsibility.

An awareness of relevant current events is an important part of the commerce program. Commerce provides background information for the study of Economics, Business Studies and Legal Studies in Years 11 and 12
