My personal philosophy stems from the parable of the blind men and the elephant. The story goes that six blind men were asked to identify an elephant by touch. Each man perceived the elephant through part of the body they felt: a fan, a wall, a tree etc. (Wikipedia, 2022).
Like the elephant in the parable, the library and the information environment is seen and used depending on the user's perspectives and needs.
It is the teacher librarian's job to identify all these perspectives and create dynamic information spaces, engender harmony by celebrating diversity, and lead through service to empower the transformation.
