As you may know, a preschool is coming to TAPS to kick off 2027. It will accommodate 60 students (3 classes) at a time. The preschool will be a wonderful opportunity and resource for our school and community. Have a look at the picture and map below to get an idea of what it will look like. Exciting times ahead! Construction is likely to begin early next year. Stay tuned.
This year, we have had a group of Stage 3 students learning new skills and training to work in the library as library monitors. A new initiative introduced to the library monitors is book recommendations. Students display books they recommend for others to read.
1C have been learning to use cubes to measure the lengths and widths of objects around their classroom. In Science, they have been exploring biodegradable and non-biodegradable materials. They buried an apple, a banana, a piece of paper, a whiteboard marker, and a plastic bag.
On Tuesday, 27th April, we held our Stage 2 and Stage 3 public speaking finals. All students presented outstanding speeches in their classes, and the finalists delivered their speeches in front of their respective stage groups. Well done to all students who made it to the finals, and congratulations to the winners who will be representing us at the Zone Public Speaking Competition.
5A have been learning to use chance vocabulary to describe events. In English, they have been learning to research and create a multi-modal text.
Early intervention, developmental play, social-emotional development, positive relationship building, community networking, and having fun at school with a splash of learning — that’s what Kindergarten Transition at TAPS is all about! We are laying the foundation and aiming for a successful introduction to school life.
3T have been learning to write persuasive texts that argue who their hero is and explain why that person is a hero.
Thomas Acres were lucky enough to send over 50 students to the Campbelltown PSSA Zone Cross Country on the 30th May. All students represented our school with pride, and we have 4 students progressing to the regional level.
Students in the support unit have enjoyed striving to reach their learning goals, with some getting a taste of high school life through the Ambarvale High School taster mornings.
The students in KP have enjoyed learning to count, record numbers, and add single-digit numbers.
