Last week on Friday, Bilima and Gugara went on an adventure of kindness. They delivered the artwork created by our Kindergarten, Year 1, and Year 2 students to Uniting Elanora Shellharbour Nursing Home.
The manager had explained that the residence had been excited all week anticipating the visit. Kindergarten showed off with four performances, they took a request from one of the residents dancing to ‘Sweet Caroline’, they got to create some art to take home and of course delivered the artwork made from the students.
One of our favourite parts was when the kindergarten students interviewed one of the residents (known as their ‘gran-friend’). The kindergarten shoot students showed warmth, empathy and kindness, listening and engaging with their grandparents.
We were so proud of our students. It was a beautiful experience, with one resident reporting to the teachers that it was the highlight of her year and another saying that they are such beautiful children.
Last week, our school community came together to honour and remember those who have served and sacrificed for our country. Students and staff from both Barrack Heights Public School and ASPECT joined in a moving service to commemorate this important day of reflection and gratitude.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who brought in flowers for our wreaths and to place at our memorial, your contributions helped make the ceremony special.
We are especially proud of our student leaders, who led the service with respect, maturity, and pride. A huge thank you to the families and loved ones who joined us to pay their respects, your presence made the day even more meaningful.
A huge thank you to all our wonderful grandparents and loved ones who joined us for Grandparents Day! It was such a special celebration filled with smiles, hugs, and so much love.
We are so grateful we could share this beautiful day together. Thank you for being such an important part of our school community and for the love and wisdom you bring to our children’s lives every day.
Our K-2 students had an amazing time on their excursion to the Early Start Discovery Space in Wollongong! The interactive exhibits and hands-on activities sparked curiosity and creativity, making learning a fun adventure. It was wonderful to see our young learners exploring, discovering, and enjoying every moment of this unforgettable experience. A truly awesome day full of discovery and joy!
