Dear Stage 3 families,
If you have already provided permission and made payment for this year's Stage 3 camp, thank you, please disregard this reminder.
If however, you have not yet given permission, or have given permission but not made the first payment instalment of $50, which is due this Friday 16/05/2025, this is your friendly reminder to secure your child's attendance at camp and make the first payment.
Please contact the office if you require assistance giving permission or making payments, remembering Eftpos and Cash are welcome at the office.
If your child is not going to be attending the camp, please acknowledge in the permission section of the Activity.
Last week we proudly welcomed the Hon. Deputy Premier and Minister for Education Ms Prue Car, alongside Anna Watson MP (Member for Shellharbour) and Paul Scully MP (Member for Wollongong) to our school for a very special announcement — Barrack Heights has been selected as one of the next sites for a new Public Education Preschool and the contracts for the build have been awarded!
It was an honour to have our guests visit the future site of our preschool and explore our beautiful school grounds. They also had the joy of stepping into our Kindergarten classrooms, where our youngest learners shone brightly as they shared their learning with pride.
A big shout out to our amazing school leaders, Sophie and Darius along with students Hamish, Jade and Otis who confidently took to the microphone, even chatting with WIN TV and the ABC News! You made our school community so proud! A special mention to our wonderful mothers Lauren, Loren and Karen who were part of this announcement launch.
We are thrilled to be part of this $769 million NSW Government initiative, creating more access to quality early learning. Construction is expected to be completed by Day 1, Term 1 2027, with our preschool welcoming up to 40 children each day.
Last week at Barrack Heights Public School, we proudly held our ANZAC Remembrance Ceremony — despite the weather conditions. While the weather may have forced us indoors, it didn’t dampen the spirit of respect, reflection, and gratitude shared by our entire student body.
Commemorating ANZAC Day is an important tradition at BHPS. It is a time to honour the courage and sacrifice of the men and women who served — and continue to serve — our country. Our ceremony offered a meaningful opportunity for students to reflect on the values of bravery, resilience, and mateship.
A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated school leaders, staff, and students who ensured the service went ahead with such dignity and care. Your efforts to make this occasion special, despite the conditions, did not go unnoticed.
Lest we forget.
On Friday morning, we celebrated all the women in our lives with a Petite Pastry event. A huge thank you to all our loved ones who joined us for this event, it was lovely having you celebrate YOU with US. A big thank you to the BHPS Team who made the event possible. Happy Mother’s Day to all our MUMs on Sunday.
Congratulations to our incredible runners who represented BHPS with courage and determination at the District PSSA Cross Country Carnival. We are proud of each and every one of you for your efforts today.
