This is a friendly reminder that our School Cross Country Carnival is on Monday, 7/4/25.
Students are encouraged to wear their house colours.
The day will be held at Jock Brown Oval this year.
Students will complete the school morning session and lunch will be called at 10:40am.
Kindergarten and Year 1 will be having their races on school grounds straight after lunch at the earlier time of 11:20am. They will then remain at school for the remainder of the day.
Students in year 2-6 will be leaving school immediately after Kindergarten and Year 1 races and walking to Jock Brown Oval.
We will be aiming to begin the carnival at approximately 12:20pm.
We would love to have friends and family come to spectate at Jock Brown oval from 12:00pm.
Upon completion of the carnival staff and students will walk back to school.
Congratulations Keeley C!
Keeley was 1 of 12 selected to represent South Coast Rugby 7s.
We had an amazing time attending the Halogen National Young Leaders Day at the Sydney ICC with our student leaders We are inspired by all the incredible leaders who shared their stories and insights. It was such a fun and motivating experience! Plus, we even got a photo with the actress playing Moana in the new live-action movie coming in 2026!
K-2 hat making was so much fun! Check out some snaps below.
On Wednesday, 9 April, between 1:30-3 PM, you’re invited to attend Barrack Heights Public School's Easter Hat Parade!
Join us for a picnic lunch from 1:30 PM. Students will have the option to bring a $2 coin on the day for a hot cross bun and popper combo, and ice blocks will also be available for sale at the canteen. Extra hot cross buns will be available for purchase by parents & carers on the day as well, from the canteen.
Then, head to the basketball court at 2 PM to enjoy the Easter Hat Parade and celebrate the creativity of our students. We look forward to seeing you there!
April is World Autism Awareness Month, each year, we celebrate and spread awareness and acceptance of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ADS).
ASD is a lifelong developmental condition characterised by difficulties in social interaction, communication, restricted and repetitive interests and behaviours, and sensory sensitivities. The word spectrum reflects the wide range of challenges that people on the spectrum experience and the extent to which they may be affected. An estimated 1 in 70 Australians are on the autism spectrum; that is around 353,880 people. Research has shown that the quality of life for many children and adults can be significantly improved by an early diagnosis and appropriate, evidence informed treatment.
With this in mind, Barrack Heights Public School has completed phase one of our sensory-rich playground for students across the full range of abilities.
Today our support unit sold delicious donuts to students at lunch and recess to raise funds for phase two.

Dear Families,
We appreciate the many demands on families in the mornings and understand that getting everyone where they need to be on time can be a challenge. We value the effort you put into ensuring your children arrive at school ready for the day ahead.
For the safety of all students, we want to remind families that supervision at school begins at 8:30am. To ensure students are safe and cared for, they should not be on school grounds before this time.
In the past, we have opened the main gate at 8:25am to allow students to wait in a designated area before supervision begins. However, due to the ongoing work in the front courtyard, this is no longer possible. While we explored other options, opening the basketball gates earlier is not feasible, as there is no supervision available in the playground before 8:30am.
We know that mornings can be busy, and we are committed to supporting families where we can. If you need assistance exploring before-school options to help make the morning routine smoother, please reach out to the office – we are here to help.
Thank you for working with us to keep all students safe. We appreciate your understanding and support.
Each day at 2:55 PM, our student leaders will open the back gates near the Basketball Courts for afternoon pickup.
Friendly reminder to please return borrowed Community Pantry crates

If students are marked as absent on the school roll, an SMS will be sent out before 11am on the same day advising you of the absence. Please respond via schoolbytes advising the reason for their absence.
At Barrack Heights our school hours are from 8.30am to 3.00pm. Students must NOT be on school grounds before 8:30am without parent supervision. A Teacher is on duty from 8.30am onwards.
