Each morning, Buglaa dive into the world of words with our Twin Pics challenge!
Students start the day by writing their own detailed descriptions to match a given image.
Together, we explore common themed words and phrases, working as a team to create a class description that aims for a perfect 100% match to the picture.
This activity builds vocabulary, encourages creativity, and sharpens observation skills—all while having fun!
Keep an eye out for our best twin matches throughout the term.
We would like to sincerely thank you for attending our ANZAC commemoration service last week. Mr Voysey and the student helpers led a meaningful and memorable ceremony that truly honoured the spirit of ANZAC.
We also appreciate the important conversations you’ve had with your children about the significance of ANZAC. Many students shared their understanding of why we commemorate ANZAC, and some even told stories about their own family members who have served in the military.
Together, as a community, we continue to remember and honour the sacrifices made for our country.
Buglaa students are enthusiastically participating in the Sports Ready program, fully engaged in all warmup activities and skill-based games. Their dedication and enthusiasm are evident as they enjoyed the basketball skills session. Buglaa's skills will continue to improve over the coming weeks. It's inspiring to see their confidence and teamwork grow with every session.
In our Welcome to Term Two Heights Bytes we mentioned some new faces to our team. Not only have we some new faces around, but we have also been lucky enough to secure some of our temporary staff as permanent members of our BHPS team over the last few weeks too.
As mentioned last week, Ms Howle will be the classroom teacher on Gugara for the remainder of the year. We are loving everything Ms Howle brings with her to our school and can't wait for more families to meet her.
Mr Riley joins our Student Learning Support Officer Team and can be found in many of our mainstream classrooms, particularly
Ms Hooke is one of our two newly appointed Preschool teachers and has officially started at BHPS this term. Ms Hooke is working behind the scenes in preperation for the opening of our preschool in Term 4 (fingers crossed).
We would like to officially CONGRATULATE Ms Romcke on her permanent appointment to the School Administration Officer (SAO) role, including our newly established Preschool administration role here at BHPS. Ms Romcke was transferred permanently into this role last week. Welcome permanently to BHPS, Brooke!
CONGRATULATIONS to Mrs Sims who has been appointed permanently to BHPS in the role of a Student Learning and Support Officer. Nicole has been part of the Education Support Staff here at BHPS for a considerable amount of time and it is exciting to welcome her permanently to our team.
Ms Bailey has received a scholarship to complete her Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Once this qualification has been successfully completed, Ms Bailey will take up a permanent appointment as a Student Learning Support Officer in our Preschool. This is a very exciting addition to our Preschool team.
In Term 2, we are inviting parents and carers to participate in the NSW Public Schools Parent Survey.
The survey gives you the opportunity to share your experience at our school, including communication, inclusion, wellbeing and how your child’s learning is supported.
Hearing directly from our parents and carers will help us understand what’s working well and where improvements can be made. Participation in the survey is optional, your responses are anonymous, and it takes around 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
You can access at the survey at https://surveyme.education.nsw.gov.au/sc/XPBEU8GQ-dyjFr9PlPuEZg2.
Further information about the NPSS Parent Survey is available at https://education.nsw.gov.au/npss.
