Acknowledgement of Country

Victoria Avenue Public School would like to acknowledge and pay respect to the Wangal clan of the Eora nation, the traditional owners of the land on which we learn, work and play. We pay our respect to elders past and present and extend this respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples learning, working or visiting at our school.

School Administration Support Staff updates (SASS)

School Administration Officers (SAO)

We welcome Mrs Sindhu Panicker, Mrs Nadia Cappetta and Mrs Pamela Ziino to the VAPS team. Ms Amy Puah is Rel. School Administration Manager and together the front office team works very closely to support the needs of the students, staff and families of our school.

School Learning Support Officers (SLSO)

We welcome Ms Lillian Elassaad and Ms Erynne Galanos to VAPS to the VAPS team. Ms Elassaad and Ms Galanos work in classrooms to support students to access teaching and learning in all key learning areas, including literacy and numeracy.

Senior Constable Jim - Police Youth Liaison Officer

Stage 3 students were fortunate to attend cyber safety presentation with Senior Constable Jim this week. Students were attentive and active participants, asking and answering many interesting questions that arose throughout the presentation.

Sensational VAPS Chess competitors concentrating intently on the game at hand. Hosting students in their own time on a Friday afternoon.

Thanks to a student petition, we are trialling handball in the mornings

From the Deputy Principal - Anthea Bell

It was wonderful to see students, families, and staff come together to share in the joy of learning during our Open Classrooms yesterday. Students proudly showcased their work, and our Library Leaders and Podcast Team did a fantastic job capturing the excitement of the day.

Over the last fortnight, I have enjoyed seeing students demonstrating our Help Increase the Peace (HIP) Keys in action: Think before reacting, Respect yourself, Care for others, Work together for a non-violent way and Expect the best. I was especially impressed by how they showed Respect yourself, taking pride in their learning and caring for their classrooms as they prepared to welcome visitors and share their learning with the school community. Moments like these highlight the wonderful learning and care happening across our school every day.

Victoria Ave PS uses School Bytes to communicate with you. The portal is used for various things, including online permission notes, attendance, and payments, which can be accessed via a secure link.

IMPORTANT: To ensure that the registration process works smoothly and you can link your account to your child(ren), make sure that you use the same email address that you have provided to the school or if using a different email address, an SMS verification code will be sent to the mobile phone number on record for you at the school.
