Braxton & Bobs Farm Heartbearts
As an example of embedding Aboriginal Perspectives into everyday learning, our Bobs Farm Heartbeats skipping squad performed at the Tomaree Learning Community's Public Education Awards Ceremony in the colours of the Aboriginal flag, entered with a cultural dance to the sounds of Braxton on the yidaki (didgeridoo) and the track Gapu, and then were accompanied by the famous track from Yothu Yindi, Treaty for the skipping routine.
This was all done through respectful consultation with local Worimi elder and NSW AECG Life Member, Uncle Leigh, who was present on the night. (I'm pretty sure I saw a few tears in his eyes, too. 😅) He certainly was beaming with pride as much as we all were.
