Miss Brien & Miss McMillan

It's hard to believe that the four weeks has gone by so quickly, but we sadly say 'Gapu' (see ya later) to Miss Brien and Miss McMillan at the end of this week. We have absolutely loved having them during their time here and can't wait to hopefully see them back here in a 'proper' teaching capacity soon when they complete their studies.

THANK YOU, Miss Brien and Miss McMillan! You should both be incredibly proud of your contribution to our school and how rapidly you have progressed in your teaching skills. You will both certainly be missed! Come back soon!!!

Assembly Awards

Due to touch football, we have not had an assembly in the past fortnight, with it being rescheduled to this coming Friday instead. Hope you see you there!

About two weeks ago, I was asked if I wanted to go to a day for kids with high social/emotional intelligence. There were lots of schools from around the Hunter there. Tomaree, Maitland and Irrawang High were a few of the schools that attended. We had to be like detectives. We were given a sheet of paper with each school's attendance and we had to try and figure out when our school had the worst attendance and why. I noticed that Thursdays were our lowest attedance days so we started trying to brainstorm ideas for why that might be happening.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the department of education has run out of ideas to improve attendance and out of sheer desperation have called upon the kids with high social/emotional intelligence so that they can hand the problem over to them instead!

Whatever the motives of the people running it, it was a very fun day and I enjoyed it.
