You will:
identify alien features
draw an alien by following instructions
create a your own alien.
You'll need:
a device to watch the video clips
a lead pencil, an eraser, paper and coloured pencils
art materials. You may want to use paint, costumes, clay or even recycled materials!
Watch the 'Out of this World' segment video from the 2019 Schools Spectacular. This medley was inspired by weird and wonderful alien creatures from space.
Can you identify the aliens and other creatures in the video?
Describe as many as you can. You might like to draw pictures to help clarify your descriptions.
Explain what makes a character look like an alien. What features might they have?

Note: You can use pencils instead of markers.
You can also change some of the features, if you like! You might want your alien to have 3 eyes or make it a different colour. Feel free to get creative!
How to draw a space alien
Duration: 09:27Aliens can come in all colours, shapes and sizes. They could be scary, friendly, clever or weird and unusual. They could be robotic, look like a human or animal, or they could be completely unique!
It's time to let your imagination run free!
Create your own alien.
You can choose to:
draw or sketch
paint
create a sculpture out of recycled materials
sculpt with clay or playdough
or make a costume!
Be sure to share your artwork and display it for all to see!
