What will I learn?

You will:

  • explore elements of dance and drama to create characters

  • perform a dance by following actions and instructions

  • develop coordination skills through movement and actions.

Before you begin

Today we are going to dance like a dinosaur. I hope you have lots of energy!

You'll need:

  • space to dance

  • material or an old shirt

  • a hat.

Dance along to the music to get warmed up and ready to have some dinosaur dancing fun!

Create a dinosaur fossil shape using your body on the floor.

Here are some pictures of dinosaur fossils that might help you think of shapes to make.

You might like to try creating a large dinosaur fossil with some of your classmates using all your bodies together.

You could also do this with some of your toys!

Make your dinosaur fossil wake up.

Move around your space like a dinosaur.

Dinosaurs walked on either 2 legs or 4 legs.

Create your dinosaur fossil shapes and ask someone to take a picture of you. Share these pictures with your teacher!

3. Perform

Watch the video and join in the dance following the instructions on the video.

Try doing this dance as an explorer and as a dinosaur.
