Important information and how to get involved

How to apply

Interested students are required to have a parent/carer complete the Southern Tablelands Secondary Dance Ensemble application form by Friday 23 February 2024 (Term 1 Week 4).

Following the close of applications school principals will be contacted to endorse the participation of the nominating students.

All students who apply will attend the first rehearsal on Tuesday 5 March from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm at Karabar High School.

Following this rehearsal, students will be nominated by the choreographers for selection into the Ensemble for 2024.

Selected ensemble members only will be required to attend all subsequent rehearsal and performance dates.

Students will be notified of selection into the Ensemble on Friday 8 March 2024.

A participation fee of $100 is required for each student selected into the Ensemble.  This fee will cover tuition, ensemble t-shirt and costume.

Students only attending the first rehearsal will not be required to make a payment.

Students will be required to pay this fee to their school upon acceptance into the Ensemble and schools will be debited for student participation.  Payment will be due by Friday 3 May 2024 (Term 2 Week 3).

Please advise the school you are paying for Southern Tablelands Secondary Dance Ensemble 2024 when making payment.

Students may also be asked to supply accessories to go with their costume.

Southern Tablelands Dance Festival

Students in the Ensemble will also need to be available to perform at the Far South Coast Dance Festival which will be held on either Wednesday 12 or Thursday 13 June 2024 (Term 2 Week 7) at the Goulburn Performing Arts Centre. The date will be confirmed by the festival committee in early Term 2.

Choreographers

Successful applicants will be working with 2 amazing professional choreographers Virginia Ferris and Christine Gillett to create a dance work.

Gin and Chris are both highly successful artistic directors, choreographers, specialised tutors and adjudicators; with dance careers spanning Australia and internationally.

We are so excited to have Gin and Chris on board to work with the Ensemble in 2024 and know that all students will benefit from this unique experience of working with choreographers of this calibre.
