Information about Shelly Beach, Manly
Shelly Beach is located near Manly and connected to Cabbage Tree Bay and Fairy Bower. The beach has been used over time for many different activities including commercial fishing, swimming, living and dining. Over time people have successfully lobbied to have Shelly Beach and Cabbage Tree Bay declared an aquatic reserve. This means no one is allowed to take marine life from the site. It is the only west-facing aquatic reserve on Australia's east coast. Keen snorkelers, scuba divers and swimmers use this protected part of the coast every day to enjoy the amazing marine life available to see.
