Welcome
Pulse Moree is a program designed to provide high-quality arts experiences for public school students in the Moree area who, due to distance, don’t always have the same access as metropolitan students to arts experiences.
NSW Department of Education Arts Unit staff, tutors and choreographers will run two days of workshops in a variety of performing arts forms in Moree culminating in a performance showcase for families, schools and friends to be held at Moree Secondary College.
Two important aims for this program and our team:
Schools in each area have input into what they would like in terms of workshops and performance items We would like to tailor the workshops to suit the requests and requirements of schools involved and also to include local content.
The focus is on providing a wonderful experience for students through the process of the workshops. The performance is not the main aim or goal.
Students of all backgrounds and abilities are encouraged to be involved.

Workshop/Performance for Kindergarten to Year 2 students
Technical rehearsal and performance showcase for Years 3 to 12 students
5:30 pm - Performance #1 (All Years 3 to 12 students)
7:00 pm - Performance #2 (All Years 3 to 12 students)
All students in Years 3 to 6 participating in the workshops will perform in both evening performances. Performances are likely to run for approximately 45 minutes in duration.
Please see the Pulse Moree Schedule page for a more in-depth breakdown.
Workshops
Schools have the option of asking students to select the workshop they would like to participate in.
All students from the same school do not have to be in the same workshop unless that is the decision the school makes for ease of participation. Students can only participate in one workshop.
All students will be involved in the performance finale. This will be rehearsed during the workshop sessions.
We plan to offer workshops in the following areas. The resulting workshops will be based on school nominations. Should any workshop area not receive sufficient nominations, it may not run.
Creative Arts (Kindergarten to Year 2)
Primary Dance (Years 3 to 6)
Primary Music and Drama (Years 3 to 6)
Secondary Dance (Years 7 to 12)
Secondary Music (Years 7 to 12)
Please see the Pulse Moree Workshop page for a more in-depth breakdown of the workshops on offer.
Venues
Pulse Moree Performances will be held at Moree Secondary College. Workshops will take place at local schools and venues.
Please see the Pulse Moree Venues page for more details of the venues for the workshops and performances.
School Items
As well as participation in the workshop program, schools can nominate to present a school-based item in the performance showcase e.g. a school band, or music/dance group.
Costs and Staffing
Schools are asked to provide enough staff to cover the duty of care for their students participating. Supervision of students during the workshops can be shared across schools. Schools with small groups of students attending multiple workshops do not require a staff member to supervise at every workshop.
There is no participation fee to be involved in the workshops and performances, however, schools will be responsible for the cost of attending, including staffing and travel.
Tickets to the showcase performance will be sold to families and community at $15.00 per ticket.
Teacher workshops
The tutors running workshops for Pulse Moree will be available on the Tuesday afternoon from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm for a teacher workshop, to discuss devising process for creative arts. Nominations for these workshops should be made on the Pulse Moree school nomination form.
