Why do you think Macquarie Island is protected by UNESCO World Heritage? What might be in danger on that island, that needs protection and people to take care of it?
There is a special island called Macquarie Island. This island is really far south near Antarctica, and it's a very important place in the world.
This book tells us all about Macquarie Island. It talks about its past and how it has changed over time. Sadly, people have hurt the island's environment, but now they're trying to make it better again.
It's a story about not giving up hope. Even though bad things happened to the island, people are working hard to fix it. It's like finding a lost paradise and making it beautiful again.
This island is like a small piece of the whole world. By taking care of it, we can learn how to take care of our planet better. So, Macquarie Island's story helps us understand how important it is to protect nature.
