EVET courses provide a variety of subjects that students can study as part of their HSC. All courses contribute to a student's HSC pattern of study, however, only some of the courses will contribute to a student's ATAR. These courses will have an HSC exam that will need to be completed. Students who wish to undertake an EVET course will still need to choose 6 subjects at school. The EVET course will be counted as an additional 2 units.
Below you will find a link to a document outlining the courses available through TAFE, and also an EOI form that will need to be completed and returned to Mr Turner in the Careers Office.

Another potential option for your child is an SBAT. These allow students to complete the first year of an apprenticeship while still at school. Students who take on a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship are motivated young people who don’t just want to plan their future career, they want to experience it now. Managing an SBAT can be difficult so important questions to consider are:
Is this a career I’m interested in?
Can I handle school, work and training along with family and community commitments?
Do I have a support network around me to help along the way? Teachers, careers adviser, transition advisor, parents/carers, friends, mentors etc.
Can I make travel arrangements to get myself to work and training on time?
If you answered YES to the questions above, an SBAT may be a great option for you. Come and have a chat with Mr Turner to discuss this option further.
