Melrose Park History

The history of Melrose Park Public School
and the surrounding area

This website was first established to mark the 75th Anniversary of our school.  Students from 5E (2020) researched information and interviewed current and former staff, teachers and students to find out about the history of our school and the local area. This is an ongoing project with more former teachers and students interviewed in 2021 and 2022.  Due to Covid restrictions in 2020 -21, we were unable to invite people to visit the school for a 75th celebration. However, in November 2022 we held a successful open day with an expansive historical display of photos and memorabilia. We were pleased to have a large number of former students attend. We took the opportunity to gather more photos and record interviews with a number of former students. These photos have been added to the website. Interviews are currently being edited and added as they are completed. Please contact the school if you have more photos or would like to be interviewed.
