This template allows students to create a space where the person who runs the server is able to allow group members to move into the world and start building, but keep other people who are not part of the group out of the world. This should help to eliminate the issues of people destroying other students' work or otherwise interfering with the flow of group work activities.

Here is a design task within Minecraft that I am building into my Digital Technologies program. Feel free to use it with your classes if its the kind of thing you could use. It is a group work task that I've planned to take between 3 - 4 x 1 hour lessons with a stage 4 class but mileage may vary.

This world is something I call a Persistent, Engaging, Dynamic Learning Environment. The idea is that Minecraft could be used as a learning environment like Google Classroom or MS Teams, but much more engaging. Students buy into the world and invest by building houses and collaborating with others.
The world contains 30 individual plots that students may claim. Once a plot is claimed, they are the only one who can access the plot.
The world also contains a classroom where the teacher has control over a few commands. One, teleports everyone on the server to the classroom, and another makes a copy of any book that has been placed on the lectern at the front of the room for every student. It is designed to be used with Google Classroom, so students would complete a task in Minecraft, export the data from Minecraft to a pdf and upload that pdf. However, it is also possible to use the world on it's own, as students can put their book into a book depository when finished which the teacher can then access and mark.
The most recent version also includes 4 Guild Plots where students can join a guild with other students and build together.
I have tried to think of everything and I have some very mischievous students who help me when I get things wrong. Some things I have implemented to stop things from going wrong:
Admin area which only the teacher has access to.
Disabling certain items that allow students to travel or teleport to stop them getting into other students' plots.
Permanent compass to allow students to always find their way back to the town.
Tags to allow students who have completed the task to teleport out of the classroom.
Storage for completed books for up to 20 tasks in an area only accessible by the teacher.
The idea behind this world is that students have a high level of engagement with the world and their continued ability to build and contribute to the world depends on their ability to complete tasks.
Codes you will need to know in order to use this world:
/wb
- Do this when ever you need to move across borders or edit NPC dialogue
Puts you in World Builder mode
/scoreboard players set @s admin 1
- Do this once, first time you log in to the world
This sets you as an admin and allows you to use the various admin teleporters and buttons
/scoreboard players set StudentName plot X
- Do this once FOR EACH STUDENT once they have chosen a plot (you can have this as a reward for completing their first activity)
This allows you to assign a plot to a student. Put in their Minecraft name for StudentName (mine is CraigM) and the number of the plot for X
/scoreboard players set StudentName guild X
- Do this once FOR EACH STUDENT if you want to use the Guild system, once you have sorted students into Guilds
This allows you to assign a student to a guild. Put in their Minecraft name for StudentName (mine is CraigM) and the number of the guild for X - Black = 1, Blue = 2, Orange = 3, Green = 4, Yellow = 5, Purple = 6
