Teachers provide advice to students on their performance in various ways – student reports, parent teacher interviews and verbally in class on a day to day basis. This session will look at how teachers can select and communicate effective strategies to help improve student performance, no matter their capability or current achievement level.

This was the first session of our Community of Practice. We explored different fraction representations used in the Making Predictions Year 7 unit, and the Think-Pair-Share teaching strategy and how it was used in the Geometrical Representations, Year 9 unit.
This was the second session of our Community of Practice. This session explored Unit 2 from both the Year 7 and 9 scope and sequences, Making decisions and Working with triangles. The focus teaching strategy was managing rich tasks.
This was the third session of our Community of Practice. This session explored Unit 3 from both the Year 7 and 9 scope and sequences, Representing numbers and Prisms and cylinders. The focus teaching strategy was using technology.

This was the fourth session of our Community of Practice. This session explored Unit 4 from both the Year 7 and 9 scope and sequences, Additive thinking and Index laws. The focus teaching strategy was using worked examples.
This was the fifth session of our Community of Practice. This session explored Unit 5 from both the Year 7 and 9 scope and sequences, Multiplicative thinking and Financial mathematics. The focus teaching strategy was using pose-pause-pounce-bounce and talk moves.
