Dear Parents / Caregivers,
As we come to the end of Term 1, I would like to take a moment to reflect on what has truly been an outstanding and rewarding term for our school community. It has been wonderful to see our students embracing every opportunity with enthusiasm, demonstrating resilience, kindness, and a commitment to learning. From academic achievements to sporting success, and from community events to student leadership, this term has showcased the very best of our school. I thank our dedicated staff, supportive families, and, of course, our incredible students for making this such a positive and successful term!
Zone Swimming Carnival
Our Zone swimmers represented the school with great pride at the Engadine Zone Swimming Carnival. It was fantastic to see such strong participation and sportsmanship, with many students achieving personal bests and supporting one another throughout the day. Congratulations to all competitors for their effort and determination in the pool. A special congratulations to Aria, Skyla, Henry and Charlie who qualified in making it to the Regional carnival!
NAPLAN
Students in Years 3 and 5 approached NAPLAN with maturity and focus this term. We are very proud of the way they applied themselves during the assessments, demonstrating perseverance and a positive attitude. These assessments are just one measure of learning, and we commend all students for giving their best effort.
Sydney East Swimming Carnival
We were thrilled to have Aria, Skyla, Henry and Charlie progress to the Sydney East Swimming Carnival, representing our school at a higher level of competition. Their dedication to training and their outstanding performances were commendable. We congratulate these students on their achievements and for being such excellent ambassadors for our school.
Welcome BBQ
A highlight this month was our Welcome BBQ, generously organised by our P&C and supported by McGrath Real Estate. It was a wonderful opportunity to warmly welcome our new families and 2026 Kindergarten students into our school community. Events like this play an important role in building connections and fostering a strong sense of belonging and I am appreciative of the many staff who attended outside of school hours to welcome these families to our school.
P&C AGM
The P&C AGM was well attended, and we thank all members of our community who continue to support the important work of this group. Their commitment and collaboration make a significant difference to our school, and we look forward to another productive year working together. Congratulations to the new P&C executive committee, we look forward to achieving great things in 2026!
Harmony Day & World Down Syndrome Day
Our celebrations of Harmony Day and World Down Syndrome Day were vibrant and meaningful. Students embraced the messages of inclusion, respect, and diversity, participating in activities that highlighted the importance of acceptance and understanding. It was heartening to see our school community come together to celebrate what makes us unique and I thank Mrs Stephanie Rodden for contributing to our whole school assembly on the day.
Woronora River First Nations Student Council
Our involvement in the Woronora River First Nations Student Council continues to provide valuable opportunities for student voice and leadership. Students engaged thoughtfully in discussions, activities and initiatives, demonstrating respect. Well done to our YPS representatives!
National Young Leaders Day Conference
Our prefects attended the National Young Leaders Day Conference, returning inspired and motivated! The experience provided valuable insights into leadership, goal setting, and personal growth. We look forward to seeing these students continue to develop their leadership skills within our school and I thank Miss Michelle for attending the day with us.
Junior Choir Rehearsal
Our Junior Choir has been working diligently in rehearsals this term, developing their confidence and musical skills. It has been wonderful to hear their progress and enthusiasm. We look forward to future performances where they can showcase their hard work. Thank you Mrs Greening for all you do for our Choir!
Parent Teacher Interviews
Many thanks to all families who joined us for our Term 1 Parent Teacher Interviews / ESP / PLP plan meetings. These conversations are invaluable in supporting student learning and strengthening the partnership between home and school. We appreciate your ongoing engagement and support.
PBL Rewards Day – Congrats Bradman!
Our PBL Rewards Day was a fantastic way to celebrate positive behaviour across the school. Congratulations to Bradman for earning the most Burrabucks this term. It is always a pleasure to recognise students who consistently demonstrate our school values.
Community Invitations
We warmly invite current and prospective families to join us for our upcoming Expo Evening, to be held on Wednesday from 5:00pm to 7:00pm in the Kindergarten rooms. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our school and welcome future members of our community.
We also look forward to seeing families at our Easter Hat Parade on Thursday at 2:30pm. It is always a joyful and creative event on our school calendar and I thank the P&C for supporting us on the day. Don’t forget to get your raffle tickets in!
Finally, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to our P&C for their incredible support throughout the term. The Bingo Night on Saturday was a fantastic event, full of fun and a great success! We deeply appreciate the time, effort, and enthusiasm that goes into organising events and fundraising initiatives for our students and school.
Term 2
We look forward to another exciting term ahead. A reminder that the first two days next term will be Staff Development Days, with all students returning on Wednesday 22 April.
