Term 4 2025
Term 4 2025
Dear Parents, Carers and Students,
As the 2025 school year draws to a close, it is time to reflect on our achievements as a school community. I continue to be inspired by the dedication and commitment of KIEC teaching and support staff to ensure every student is supported to reach the required standard of academic English for NSW high schools.
We are so proud of the fantastic learning and creativity we’ve seen from our students this term. Please enjoy the photo galleries from this term showcasing the diverse activities your children have been involved in throughout the term. Our committed teachers develop hands-on learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom that encourage students to learn through experience and thoughtful reflection.
I would like to thank all parents and carers for their ongoing support and partnership. I would also like to extend my best wishes to the students who have graduated from KIEC this term as they transition to their local schools. We look forward to welcoming our students back next year in Term One on 2nd February 2026.
I wish all students and families a wonderful Christmas and a safe break.
Ms Moschatos
Head Teacher
School resumes on Monday 2nd February 2026

Over 40 International Students from KIEC and KHS came together for a morning tea to hear from DEI student ambassadors about their experience of being an International Student in school. Students asked questions and gained valuable advice about high school and university.
On Wednesday 29th October, classes 3J, 4J and 5J enjoyed a memorable excursion to see the exhibition Sculptures by the Sea at Bondi Beach. Everyone had a great day appreciating the many incredible sculptures along the coastline.
All students visited the local Kogarah Library in Week 4 to orient them to what books and resources they could use when not at school.

A group of students attended the High School Career's Day at Rydges in Parramatta. It was a great day learning about the careers available for their future.
Bush Care was an excursion organised by Bayside Council. Students had the opportunity to learn about Australian plants and weeds. Using team work they worked hard to identify and remove weeds. In doing so, they helped improve the condition of the bushland at Sir Joseph Banks Park. Although it was challenging, it was a fun and rewarding experience!
The Annual High Tea is a community event that brings together parents, staff and members of the community to raise awareness of local organisations that can support students and their families. The theme for this year was 'United in Diversity'. Two of our students performed and showcased their talents for everyone to enjoy.
Last Wednesday 10th of December KIEC students went on an excursion to visit Arncliffe Youth Centre. Classes 3J, 4J and 4S participated in various sports, games and social activities. Students can visit the centre in the school holidays for more information visit the centre's website: baysideyouthservices.eventbrite.com
Students from 5J were invited to the Kogarah Community Service's Christmas Party. They enjoyed lunch, had their arms painted and met Santa. Most importantly they were very well behaved as they interacted with senior members of the local community.
During Term 4, our students enjoyed an exciting adventure at The Tops Camp in Stanwell Tops.
At camp, students took part in a range of thrilling outdoor activities that challenged their fears and tested their coordination skills. Highlights included archery, bubble soccer, the high swing, abseiling and navigating a high ropes obstacle course. It was a memorable experience filled with fun, teamwork, and personal growth for everyone involved!
Students from Kogarah IEC showed great determination and sportsmanship in their recent matches against Marrickville IEC and Beverly Hills IEC. The Mixed Girls’, Junior Boys’, and Senior Boys’ teams all participated with enthusiasm and represented our school proudly. Although our teams unfortunately did not come away with a win, we congratulate Marrickville IEC for their strong performance and excellent play on the day.
KIEC had a picnic day out at Gunnamatta Park. The tall gum trees provided shade and students spent time playing, dancing and eating with their friends. A great way to end the year.
Santa came to visit us at our end of year assembly.
MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!
Congratulations and farewell to our graduating students. We wish you all the very best for your onward journey in your new schools. We will miss you. Thank you for the wonderful memories.
