Using the Paul Ham interview

The interview with Paul Ham aims to stimulate students to read, write and respond to literature.

The interview and reading – consisting of nine video clips – along with his books, can be used to support students working towards achieving outcomes in:

• Stage 5 History Elective
• Stage 6 Modern History
• Stage 5 English
• Stage 6 English Standard and English Advanced

History Stages 5 and 6

This resource supports a Vietnam War thematic study in Stage 5 History Elective.

For Stage 6 Modern History, this resource directly supports:

• Investigating Modern History Case Study A1: Australia and the Rise of Communism
• Peace and Conflict Option A: Conflict in Indochina 1954–1979

More generally, the interview covers:

• the process of history research and writing
• significant historiographical ideas and processes
