Harmony Day at Concord West Public School
Wednesday 27th March 2024 (Week 9)
Wednesday 27th March 2024 (Week 9)
Dear Parents and Carers,
We are having Harmony Day at school on Wednesday 27th March (Week 9). This is a day to celebrate the different cultures we come from and promote peace and harmony in our school.
Students are invited to wear traditional clothes from their culture.
Orange t-shirt
Orange socks
Orange ribbon
Orange wristband
Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and the freedom to be ourselves. At the same time it encourages self respect and respect of others. Australians can choose to wear something orange to show their support for cultural diversity and an inclusive Australia.
We will have a special Harmony Day assembly at 9am at the Flagpole.
Parents, carers and our school community are welcome to attend.
Note: If it rains, we will meet under the COLA (outside the library).
The canteen will also be selling special orange food on the day:
Orange fruity ice - $1
Carrot sticks - $1
Orange jelly - $2.50
Orange juice - $2.60
Butter chicken - $5.40
All donations are going to the Save the Children charity, to help children and their families going through natural disasters, conflict and disease.
