What is google Docs?

Google Docs is a real-time collaboration and authoring tool which allows you to create documents online - think of it being similar to Microsoft's version of Word (just with extra benefits!) And yes! You can convert Word files to Google Docs, and vice versa.

Multiple users can edit a document at the same time, whilst seeing each others' changes instantaneously.

Google Docs can be integrated into Google Classroom.

How can I use it in my classroom?

Use Google Docs to:

promote collaboration as students can work on the same document at the same time
track what input or changes have been made to a document and by whom
shift from printed/hard copy worksheets to online documents
support your use of Google Classroom. One example is to type up an activity in Google Docs, upload the Doc to Google Classroom, and then select the option for each student to work on their very own copy of the document.
