The 19 year old Audrey Griffin was a wonderful girl who had many friends and a life way ahead of her. Until something horrible happend.
Audrey Griffin was murdered on the NSW central coast while walking home from a night out with friends.
Audrey hadn't known the attacker and was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Audrey Griifin's body was found laying in a creek bed in the suburb of erina in the early hours of Sunday 23rd of march 2025.
Her killer Adrian Torrens was arrested and charged with the murder of Audrey and 11 unrelated domestic violence matters on April 21st.
He was later found dead in his cell at Silverwater Prison on April 24th, 2025.
For Audrey Griffin's mum and dad, Katheen Kirby and Trevor Griffin, a dirty creek bed on the side of a busy road is where they feel close to their daughter. Thats where her body was found.
They say what Audrey went through when she was killed was tormenting them.
"That's for me right now right now is just knowing what she was going through. What were her last thoughts? knowing she found him" Katheen said.
"Fighting for her life, imagine fighting for your life" Trevor said.
Torrens wife Michelle said she had been "living in fear for the past year" because of him and said he was coming to kill her that night until Audrey got in the way.
It was saturday night, March 22 2025. Audrey was having a great night out, farwelling her mates before starting her career in the navy.
When she left the gosford hotel in the early hours of Sunday morning, she planned to get an uber but instead started walking back to her friends place.
She had no idea that Torrens was following her.
The serial offender had spent the night threatening Michelle with voice mails.
When Audrey's mum woke up on Sunday morning she checked Audrey's location as she always did she then realised she never made it to her friend's house.
"I saw the loaction and obviously it would alarm me because i knew exactly where the loaction was" Katheen said.
Trevor headed over there and faced a horrifying discovery.

On Thursday April 24th the community gathered at Terrigal beach wearing white to remember Audrey Griffin and stand for change.
Her parents Katheen and Trevor are determined to make sure their heatbreaking loss won't be in vain.
"Hopefully her death has made some changes in the system" Said Trevor.
"Its definitely not going to stop here. And I'm hoping I get the strength to keep going," said Katheen.
