The Year 8 and 10 2025 Subject Selection process will occur on Tuesday 5th of August from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, in the Hall:
4:00pm - 5:00pm will be for YEAR 8
5:00pm - 6:00pm will be for YEAR 10
Dapto High School will hold a subject market to give parents and students an opportunity to talk to teachers about the subjects they have on offer for 2026. Each faculty will have a stall set up in the hall where you can obtain information on subjects that students might be interested in choosing for 2026.
The Careers advisor, representatives from TAFE and University of Wollongong will also be available for you to ask questions about courses they have and what the requirements are to enter tertiary education.
Students should read the information Subject Selection, provided on this page, and all other information provided on this website which will assist students in their selections of subjects / courses offered in 2026. Not all courses in the booklets will attract sufficient students to run. The final decision on Year 9 electives and the Year 11 Curriculum will be made in regards to:
(a) The numbers of students selecting each course
(b) Timetabling considerations
(c) Specialist room availability.
Year 8 and 10 students will need to refer to the "How-to guide" and will need their unique code (See the steps outlined below). Students will be emailed webcodes to start their selections on Tuesday 5th August, 2025. Students will be required to have their final preferences submitted by Wednesday 3pm, 13th August 2025. It is NOT "first in best dressed" when submitting selections. Students can reselect as many times as they wish where their last submission will be the one considered.
Information, to help students make their selections, has been uploaded to this Website. If there are any questions in regards to the subject selection process you can email me (Mr Tom Massarella) on italo.massarella@det.nsw.edu.au. If there are any questions relating to specific subjects, please contact the Head Teacher of the faculty or representative teacher of the subject. If there are any issues with the online portal, students can see me (Mr Massarella) and I will go through the process with you at school.
Explore the different subjects on offer by navigating you way through the websites set up by each faculty area . The links to these sites are found on this website on the Top Menu. If you have any questions please contact the relevant person, or contact the Careers Advisor.
