Language Programs at Campsie Public School
In NSW primary schools, the study of a language is optional.
Languages are an integral, and highly valued component of the educational program at Campsie Public School and our language program is highly regarded within the Department of Education and across the country. All students have the opportunity to learn a language other than English, and some who show talent or interest study more than one. Research consistently shows that learning another language has numerous academic and social benefits, including improving English language learning.
At our school we offer the Korean Bilingual Program. The NSW Bilingual Schools Program aims to achieve greater fluency in priority Asian languages and is only offered at four government primary schools. Students learn the targeted Asian languages for one hour each school day.
