Stage 2 EAL/D have been reading the book 'The Wonky Donkey' by Craig Smith, a New Zealand author, and illustrated by Katz Cowley.
ACTIVITY: Write in your book any words you did not know, and write their definition (meaning). You can also write them in your home language.
Choose 3 of those words and write sentences with them.
1. **Wonky**: Something that's a little crooked or not quite straight, like if your drawing is a bit wobbly.
2. **Winky**: When someone quickly closes and opens one eye to show they're joking or being playful.
3. **Honky-tonky**: A fun word for a lively and noisy place, like a party with music and dancing.
4. **Lanky**: Someone who is tall and slim (thin), like a beanpole.
5. **Stinky**: Something that smells bad, like old socks or rotten eggs.
6. **Cranky**: Feeling grumpy, angry or irritable, like when you haven't had enough sleep.
7. **Hanky Panky**: Silly or playful behaviour, like telling jokes or making funny faces.
8. **Spunky**: Having a lot of energy and confidence, like someone who's always ready to try new things and have fun. Can also mean good-lookiing.
