WELCOME FROM THE PRINCIPAL
On behalf of our whole school community, it is a genuine pleasure to welcome you and your child to Bourke Street Public School. We are proud of the dynamic, innovative, caring, and connected learning environment we have created, along with the rich and diverse opportunities that our students experience every day.
Our motivated and skilled staff, supportive families, and incredible students together make our school a truly special place. Every day, I am inspired by the enthusiasm and commitment of our students as they grow into well-rounded, empathetic, and capable individuals. A reminder that the future is in very bright hands.
Starting Kindergarten is a significant milestone in every child’s life. Through our orientation program, we aim to support both children and families in building a sense of belonging, developing confidence, and forming positive connections so that each child has the best possible start to school.
We hope this website and its resources help you understand what to expect, provide useful information, and offer guidance on how to support your child as they begin this exciting new chapter. WELCOME FROM THE KINDY TEACHERS
Hooray! Your first year of school is about to begin. What an exciting adventure we have to look forward to. This next year is going to be full of fun activities like reading, drawing, counting, investigating, dancing and singing! But wait, there’s more – you will make a whole bunch of new Bourkey friends here at our school and just wait until you see the classrooms and playgrounds that you will get to explore and enjoy.

WELCOME FROM THE STUDENT LEADERS
We're the Student Leaders at BSPS and we're so excited to welcome you to our amazing school.
Some of our favourite things about Bourke Street are playing and spending time with our friends, everyone is very nice, friendly and accepting. We love learning and doing activities in classrooms, using a lot of technology, and playing sports, art, and music. We think our teachers are the best (and we weren’t told to write that)! You will LOVE our playground, including fun play equipment, beautiful gardens we help to look after, our soft and hard courts and a nice, quiet, chill-out areas.
Everyone looks after the kindys in the playground and if you ever need anything, we’ll help you. We know you’ll love Bourke Street just as much as we have and we can’t wait for you to start next year.

Hello to all our new Kindergarten families! On behalf of the Bourke Street P&C, we’re thrilled to welcome you and your child to our school community.
Starting school is an exciting journey, and the P&C is here to help make it a positive experience. We’re a supportive group of parents who organise events, support initiatives, and create opportunities for families to connect and get involved in school life.
We’d love for you to join us at our monthly P&C General meetings, where you can hear about what’s happening, share your ideas, and connect with other parents. Whether you’d like to volunteer, attend events, or simply stay informed, there’s always a place for you with us. Follow us on social media and look out for school updates to stay connected.
